The Red and Black Newspaper

This is a collection of my work as the Art Director for The Red & Black Newspaper from 2019 through 2021.

The Red & Black is a student-run newsroom that covers the University of Georgia and the beautiful city of Athens. In 2019, The Red & Black won the national Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists as the best non-daily college paper in the country.
In 2020, The Red & Black won a Pacemaker award. The Red & Black was the national Mark of Excellence winner for 2020.

During my time as the Art Director I strategically led a team of designers to construct graphics for weekly online and print articles. Held independent and team meetings to streamline workflow. Responsible for weekly layout design in collaboration with the design team. I Developed creative solutions and designs under tight schedules through cover-pages by accurately portraying the reoccurring theme of the articles in the form of illustrations or collages.
